AN ORDINARY PRINCESS Sally Huss 9780982262573 Books Reviews
My grandchildren are in love with this story and crazy about the author. We must have read the story fifteen times this week alone. My granddaughters want to be ordinary princesses! Wonderfully told story!
Good
I'm not really a fan of a book where the message is that little girls should NEVER complain. There's also some sketchy grammar/punctuation problems. But my toddler liked it well enough.
What a great message delivered in a simple, yet convincing story.
I’m not surprised that children want to read it again and again; this book tells them that if you have the right attitude you can be whoever you want to be.
No wonder one of reviewers wrote “I originally gave this 4 stars but I had to come back and change it to 5 stars because my granddaughter keeps asking for me to read it to her again.”
Sally Huss managed to successfully deliver her happy message that may boost her little readers’ self-esteem. If we had more books like this one to read as children we’d save a lot of money we spend on life coaching and psychotherapies as grown-ups.
Review for An Ordinary Princess. A cute story that teaches with illustrations on every page. The little girl wants to be a princess. At the end she realizes that she can be a princess through her every day interactions, behavior and her actions. Nice to have a book that talks about princesses without making it being a fairy dress-up kind of thing, but teaches them how to have good character and makes that more about the qualities of a princess instead.
..."You're no ordinary girl, Laura Sue, "said her mother proudly..."What a princess," she said under her breath. ' Laura Sue finds out there is much more to being a princess than royal lineage, gold or crown in this delightful book with a great message. Fine book especially given that Mother's Day is just around the corner and one I really liked!
One of a dozen or so books reviewed a couple of weeks prior to Mother’s Day so that you have time to read and enjoy them yourself!
This is another of Sally Huss' little jewels. When I tire of my usual blood-and-guts murder mysteries, I take a break and read a children's book. My favorites are by Sally. I only wish there were children in my life with whom to share these wonderful little stories. A most common childhood wish to be extra-special becomes a "teaching moment" to show any child how extra-special he or she really is.
